1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Codex, the browser based online IDE operated by Bluedot Technology Ltd. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

2. The service

Codex provides an in browser editor for HTML, CSS, JavaScript and more than twenty additional programming languages. Web projects run locally in your browser. Other languages are executed through a third party sandboxed execution API. The service is offered free of charge and without a sign in requirement.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Codex to:

  • violate any law, regulation, or third party right
  • distribute malware, spyware, or harmful payloads
  • attempt to attack, probe, or disrupt other systems
  • mine cryptocurrency or run sustained background workloads
  • abuse, overload, or attempt to bypass rate limits of the execution API
  • infringe intellectual property or impersonate others

We may restrict access if your use harms the service or other users.

4. Your content

You retain full ownership of all code, text, and assets you create or paste into the editor. We claim no license over your projects. You are solely responsible for what you write and run, and for ensuring you have the right to use any third party code you include.

5. Third party services

Non web code execution is performed by a third party API. Their availability, quotas, and policies are outside our control. We are not responsible for outages, quota errors, or data handling by third parties. Save important work locally with Download .zip in the toolbar.

6. Disclaimer of warranty

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, secure, or that your data will be retained.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bluedot Technology Ltd and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising out of your use of the service.

8. Advertising

The site may display advertisements to support free access. Interactions with ads are governed by the respective ad network's terms.

9. Changes to the service and terms

We may modify or discontinue the service, or update these terms, at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
